Gluten Free Gingerbread House Review

The gingerbread house was delivered to the villa and quickly hidden away before the kids could see it or they never would have gone to bed that evening. The next day I showed the gingerbread house kit to the boys and was met with a sad face from the oldest one declaring ‘that’s not gluten free is it?’. After being reassured it definitely is gluten free and he could make and eat it I had two excited boys ready to go.image1

The first stage was gluing the house together (with edible icing sugar glue) which is pretty straight forward and the walls of the house stood up to me and the kids pushing them firmly together. While the glue dried (takes about 20min) the kids divided up the extras. The oldest got the snowman and a door and window and the youngest got a ginger bread-man and another door and window. After being handed the icing bags they set to work. By the time they were finished decorating the extras the house was ready to have its roof covered in snow and bejeweled with sweeties.

The hardest part is letting the kids have free range with their decorating skills when all I wanted to do is send them to another room while I lovingly created a snowy cottage scene. Oh well I will have to order my own kit…..
