Hoping to be of help to all those living gluten free in the United Arab Emirates – نأمل أن نكون عوناً لكل من يعيش حياته خالية من الجلوتين في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة
The time has come for me and the other admins to let the community help each other.
Gluten Free UAE was my little baby, started to help make sense of my daughters diagnosis, started to help HER be just like anyone else and find other families like ours.
I never knew what an amazing journey I embarked upon that day in 2011. A journey travelled with all of you! Radio shows, informational talks, coffee mornings, events, training in restaurants. I am grateful for every minute, but most of all I am grateful to all the gluten intolerants, celiacs, hashimotos (and other conditions) sufferers that I have met, virtually or in real life, over these past few years.
ALL your stories have touched me and I am so grateful that you all shared your stories with me. I have had ladies crying in my kitchen, learning what gluten free really means, I have taught families about cross contamination, I have gotten to give small gluten intolerant people biscuits! I have loved every moment.
Everything I wanted to achieve was achieved and then some, never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined the amount of change we as a group was able to achieve. (It is amazing and so satisfying to know that a celiac can now buy a muffin in a cafe in the UAE!)
Gluten Free UAE will never go away, it will always be here to support you all, but it is time for me and the other admins to concentrate on other things now. As a group we are strong enough to help ourselves now and I am no longer needed.
Please do go check out my personal blog and Facebook page Gluten Free & Me where you can follow my own families journey, it is ongoing with many more diagnosis’ then Celiac. Seems my daughter is one of the chosen ones and we now need to spread awareness about other things too.
Check out Gluten Free Dubai by Wendy!
And last but not least, please join the Gluten Free UAE GROUP where hundreds of other Celiacs await you and are ready to answer your questions.
THANK YOU ALL for these 5 and a half years.
